Aly came to Hagar with nothing. Over years of patient care she rebuilt her life and became a leader. Today she is one of 76 survivor leaders in Hagar's Cambodia network, reaching people that no outside professional can. Your gift funds the long-term care that makes that possible.
How the tax benefit works
The impact belongs to survivors like Aly. The deduction is yours to claim. Here is the plain version.
What you can claim
- Gifts of money of $2 or more to Hagar are tax deductible.
- A deduction reduces your taxable income, so the saving follows your marginal tax rate.
- You claim the deduction in the income year you give. A gift before 30 June 2026 counts this year.
- Monthly giving is deductible too. Your receipts across the year add up to your total deduction.
How to claim, in three steps
- Give before 30 June, online, by phone, or by mail.
- Keep your receipt. Hagar issues one for every gift, showing our name, our ABN, and that your payment is a gift.
- At tax time, enter your gift total under gifts and donations when you lodge your return.
Begin the end of trafficking
Story first. Impact second. The tax deduction is simply the part that makes giving now the smart move as well as the right one.
